Matchday 17 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League saw us play out a goalless draw against Katsina United at the Arena, a side we took all six points from last season.

LINE-UP: Michael Atata; Junior Christian, Alfred Odinaka, Gift Udoh, Waliu Ojetoye; Rasheed Owolabi, Tosin Oyedokun, Folarin Temitope; Joseph Arumala, Taiwo Alao & Chidera Oparaocha.

In a game that started very slowly, Ikorodu City controlled possession but had a hard time creating clear chances until the first quarter of an hour. A well worked chance fell to Tosin at the edge of the box and his volley went straight at the keeper.

Playing against a low-block Katsina United side, the chances were difficult to come by but Chidera thought he’d opened the scoring after beating the keeper but the goal was ruled out for offside. Minutes later, the striker once again beat the keeper but only stopped by the frame of the goal as we went into the break with no goals.

The second half brought changes as Kelechi came on for the first time since his injury three months ago. Moses also returned from injury and Uche came on as well.

The press was continuous but the visitors were not bulging defensively and it continued to be so tight with little or no chances as we ended with a share of the spoils.
