It’s been a preseason full bloom trophy haul for Ikorodu City ahead of the 2025/2026 football season with preparation full gear.
Two preseason tournaments to get the boys in shape and have a look at some of the young boys to take part in the season and its two titles for the club.
First, the Eko International Cup in Lagos in July. The club got a 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars and a 1-0 win against Rivers United in the group stage to qualify for the final.
To lift the trophy, an Emmanuel Solomon goal in the 20th second of the game was all we needed to become champions of the Eko International Cup against Smart City.

Loss of coach next as Nurudeen Aweroro moved to Shooting Stars, we took on the ValueJet Cup next in August in what was a league format against five other teams; Shooting Stars, CAF Confederations Cup bound Kwara United & Abia Warriors and CAF Champions League bound Rivers United and Remo Stars who are champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL 24/25).
The tournament provided an opportunity to test multiple players and the club emerged champions with 7 points from the five games as the tournament went down to the wire on the last game.

The club not only finished with the title but also the highest scoring team in the competition with nine goals, captain Tosin Oyedokun finished as the tournament top scorer with five goals and the only player to score a brace twice in the competition.


The club will continue preparations ahead of the new NPFL season as they face Kwara United away on the opening day of the NPFL 25/26 on Sunday 24th August 2025.
