In the second of a consecutive run of games on the road, we conceded a late freekick that saw us lose 1-0 to Nasarawa United at the Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa, on matchday 29 of the Nigeria Premier Football League 2025/26 season.
LINE-UP: Itodo Ocheme; Junior Christian, Emmanuel Matthais, Olanrewaju Molade, King Light; Folarin Temitope, Tosin Oyedokun, Farouk Salami, Joseph Arumala, Abayomi Ayodeji and James Jonah.
A slight change to the starting saw Itodo Ocheme start for the third time this season and Farouk Salami play his first game on his brief return to the club from Spain.
James Jonah had the first chance at goal with his effort cleared off the line by the defender after Farouk read the keeper’s line of pass, intercepted and laid it for James with the goalie away from the goal but the defender was quick to clear.
The first half then wore on calmly as the chances failed to come by for both sides with the scores staying level at the break.
Rasheed Owolabi and Tomiwa Awojobi were introduced at the start of the second half to provide more firepower up front as we looked for a break.
Itodo was forced to make a very decent save from close range to keep us in the game, but the breakthrough for the home side came eight minutes after as a smartly taken freekick beat Itodo in goal who was settling behind the wall.
UP NEXT
