Having had an outstanding scorecard for the month of November, we continued it into December, starting the month on a fair note as we played out a goalless draw in Bauchi last weekend against Wikki Tourists on Matchday 16.
We continue to push, with Matchday 17 just around the corner. We host Katsina United at the Arena in Lagos, ready to impress once again. This time, it’s a weekday fixture, a Monday evening. Feel some way about it? Relax. You can tell your boss to excuse you, after all, it’s the festive season already 😅😅
Facing Katsina United
On the head-to-head record, we are well ahead. We beat them in both games last season. A 2–1 away win in Katsina in November 2024, followed by a 6–0 mauling at the Arena in April. Remember that one? Pure bliss. An Ayomide Cole hat-trick, with further goals from Shola Adelani, Oladimeji Dada and Emmanuel Solomon, lit up the Arena.
This time around, as we host them again, the aim is to create something even better than April, with the win firmly in focus and a clear hunger to keep the run of positive results going.
Team News
A positive update on the team news. Moses Shodeinde is back in training, though this fixture may come a little too soon for him, as it does for Kelechi Onwe. Michael Atata, Waliu Ojetoye and Joseph Arumala have all returned and are available for selection. Only James Faith and Ayomide Cole remain on the list of injuries.
