We’re doing something special right now. Twelve games into the season and the numbers tell their own story. Just one defeat, 21 points on the board, 14 goals scored. We’ve beaten big sides, gone to tough grounds, handled the pressure, and kept our run intact with real maturity.

Now honestly, as the admin, how am I supposed to get tired of writing these previews and reviews when the team keeps delivering like this? A little bragging tone feels deserved. Maybe even necessary. After all, why shouldn’t we?

Anyway, that said, if you’re reading this again, welcome.

Sunday evening marks game 13 of the campaign, and the fixtures are flying in. With mid-season approaching, we’ve got to stay sharp and stay hungry. No easing up.

We host Plateau United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Sunday evening on Matchday 13 of the NPFL. It comes just a week after our first away win of the season in Ozoro, a 2–0 result against Warri Wolves that felt as complete as anything we’ve produced on the road.

As Plateau United comes to town, we’re looking to keep the momentum rolling and deliver another home win in front of you, our supporters.

Perhaps Plateau United should have asked for a postponement

If you’re wondering why this Matchday 13 preview carries a little extra swagger, you’re not imagining it. Anyone who reads our previews often will spot the tone right away. And yes, relax, it’s still me writing, just having fun with the form we’re in 😅😅.

Okay, you were probably expecting the usual “Facing Plateau United” subheading. Relax, we’re switching it up today.

No disrespect to Plateau United, but tyis weekend’s game is one we fully expect to win.

On Matchday 25 last season, they came to the Arena and saw our mettle firsthand. Despite going behind in the first half, late goals from Abdulmalik Olatunji and Tosin Oyedokun secured a 2-1 comeback win for us.

This time they’re coming to the Arena again, and for a team that hasn’t picked up a single point on the road this season, we won’t let them start here. Confidence is high, the players are ready, and we fully expect to get the job done.

Player Updates

Though James Faith, Ayomide Cole, Kelechi Onwe, and Moses Shodeinde remain sidelined, the other players have been extraordinary, and they’re ready to do it all over again.
