Ikorodu City FC qualified for the quarter finals of the President Federation Cup for the first time in its history and on the third time of asking.

We qualified for the Federation’s Cup in our second ever season but got knocked out by Kwara United in the second round (Round of 32). The next edition saw us lose on penalties to Inter Lagos last season in the third round (R16), but this time, we went past Beyond Limits FA with a 2-0 scoreline to seal our spot in the final eight of the competition for the first time in ever in our four seasons of football since the club’s inception.

LINEUP: Faith James; Waliu Ojetoye, Harrison Austin, Chibuike Oheagbulam, Leonard Ngenge; Onwe Kelechi, Salawu Yusuf, Rivio Ayemwenre; Emmanuel Solomon, Adelani Shola & Solomon Alade.

In what a was tight game with a few chances from us and almost none for the opponents in the first half, it ended goalless as we went into the break.

With changes at the break, it took eight minutes for us to go in front but it was the individual brilliance of our left back, Harrison Austin that did the trick. Austin found the back of the net directly from a corner kick on the near side to give us the lead.

Seven minutes later, Shola Adelani made it comfortable, scoring our second after a good dribble and run from Emmanuel Solomon to set him up.

The result meant we progressed to the quarter finals and would face Wikki Tourist in a fixture that holds a semi final place in its hands.
